Hey! My name is Faith. I have had a dream to do mission work for orphaned children in Africa for a long time. I have started this blog because my friend Tylar Josie and I are coming close to planning a trip and raising money for an orphanage. My friend Tylar and I have both had the same God given passion for children and are so excited to be coming closse to something God has called us both to do.
The orphanage that I have found is in Uganda, Africa and it is called Home Sweet Orphanage. I started the adventure by emailing the orphanage asking about what they do, if the would be interested in a short-term mission team coming to help in any way, and what we can pray for. To my excitment I recieved an email in return. I will write it, because my heart went out to them after I read it.
"Dear Faith, my name is robert,, thank you for loving our orphanage projects. our campus id open for you any time you wish to come and its open for donations of any kind. We have many challenges like feeding kids, education, sheltering, medical and more. You can make plans to visit us at any time of the year. also visiting us might cost you like $600 for a month, this will include airport travels, accomodations, and meals. So let me know how you would like to help us more. our orphanage is now critically low on food to feed kids daily and we are always requesting for more funds to come in."
This hit me hard that they have trouble feeding kids DAILY! when here, we do not really worry about having money to eat, we know that our moms or dad will just cook it for us.
