Let It Shine

My now favorite song right now is This Little Light Of Mine by Addison Road. :) Just like the children's song, this song says that through diffrents obstacles in our life, we need to shine our loving, chirst-like light for Jesus so others can see Him through us! Our lives should reflect Jesus, but of corse we can not be just like him because we are human, but the Bible tells us to be like him!
Here are the lyrics to the song! I hope this song as a meaning to you like it does to me! :)
"There's a little flame inside us all
Some shine bright
Some shine small
The rains will come
And the waters rise
But don't you ever lose your light

In this life you will know
Love and pain
Joy and sorrow
So when it hurts
When times get hard
Don't forget who's child you are

This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm Gonna let it shine
Gonna let it shine

May you live each day
With no regret
Make the most of every chance you get
Let your eyes get wide
When you look at the stars
With the same sense of wonder as a child's heart

With the ones you love
Treasure the time
And for those who are gone
Keep the memories alive

Hold on to your dreams
Don't ever let go
There's a fire inside you
Burning with hope

This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Gonna let it shine

There will be days when you wanna give up
When clouds settle in
But after the rain comes the sun
Don't you ever forget
Don't forget
Child don't forget

One day there will be no more pain
And we will finally see Jesus' face
So until then I'm gonna try
To brave the dark
And let my little light shine

This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Gonna let it shine

This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I'm gonna let it shine
Gonna let it shine
Oh, shine
Gonna let it shine
There's a little light inside us all"
Again the name of the song is "This Little Light Of Mine" by Addison Road.
God Bless!
Matthew 5:16 NIV

worry ends where Faith begins...

Ever since finding out what God has planned, things have not been the easiest. Satan has tried so many times to make me doubt GOD'S plan, even just today! Today, I found out how much airline to Kampala, Uganda would cost. I knew in my mind it was going to be a lot, but I think seeing the actual number, $3090, it hit me hard that, that is how much money I have to find to go to Uganda! As I am thinking this, thinking if ways I can make money and get donations, Satan is using all these things to make me not have faith in God and his plan! As soon as I realized what was happening, I stopped and prayed, right there in a friend's living room. I prayed for God to just comfort me and God comforted me by reminding me that this is his will, and He will get me there. This has been, I think, the biggest test of faith that I have had so far on this journey. Satan really does not want my friend and I to go on this trip, because he has been putting in the back of our minds that we can not do this, but then God intercepts and reminds us we can, through him!

Lately, God has really been giving me confidence in knowing that this is his plan! He has been showing me verses and quotes from other trustworthy people! He has also given me the opportunity to pray about this with respected people in my youth group, and everytime I talk about this passion to help the children of the Home Sweet Orphanage in Uganda, Africa, I feel him reveal his awesome power! Power that can move mountains! Power that can put a passion in someone's heart that they never knew was there. Power that can make one girl and her best friend have the same desire to serve the Lord through helping parentless children in Uganda. I mean, I would never have thought of having such a desire as I have now, to help children! I wanted to be a doctor, but then God came in and made my life a WHOLE lot better! It got better by him drawing me closer to him, and then He revealed just part of his plan to me! This whole thing is the part he has showed me! And I feel He has more in store for me! :) He is just such a mighty God, that can do ANYTHING!!

PHILIPPIANS 4:13
I can do everything(anything) through HIM who gives me strength. <3

What is my ONE mission?

"Have you ever asked yourself that question? The answer to that question just may change everything. Your life may never be the same. Most of us walk through life with no purpose, no goal, nothing bigger than us to strive for or head toward. Real living is this: having one mission and giving your life to its fulfillment. Sound exciting? It is!

Having one mission turns ordinary living into an extraordinary adventure. Every moment is an opportunity to pursue that mission and live life to its fullest. It helps to have a singular mission or clear focus in life. It helps us know where to go, what to do and why to do it. It charts our course, sets the direction of our life and provides guidance to all that we do. Your one mission is your one thing—the thing that defines what your life will be about!

As a follower of Jesus Christ your one mission is clear: The Great Commission—Go and Make Disciples! ."- this is from a website, www.onemissionstudents.org !

This past week, I attended a youth camp called Community Rehab in Commanche, Texas. At this camp, we were put into random groups of teenagers from other church youth groups, and we were assigned a house that we would be fixing up for the week! As I walked over to look at the pictures of all the houses to see the one I was assigned to, the first one I see is a house that the front part of the roof is SO close to caving in, and almost all of the paint is peeling off! As I look down to see my group name, I see it is Rowdy Roofers, as i look at the group name on the picture of the house, I see Rowdy Roofers! My first thought, as I realize that, This is the house that I am going to be working on? Seeing this house, you would not even think ANYONE could possibly be living in this house! But God placed ME to work on the house, and now I am so glad that HE did! So, later on Sunday, we meet the people in our group who we will be working  with on this house together all week, and then we go to visit the house! I am telling you, it looked even worse in person! We got to meet the person who lived there, it was a very old man named Bill Hardin, and he was just so sweet and you could see the happiness in his face that we were there to fix His house! Working on this man's house, in the Lord's name was the one of the top expiriences I have ever had in my life so far! Yes, it was so hard not to sit there and complain when it got hot, or my arm got tired from scraping paint for 3 days, but I just had to look at the positive side of things and remember, that I am here serving the Lord, and complaining was not needed!

Everyday after our work, we would come back, clean up, have dinner, and have an awesome time of worship! For worship, the band (who is actually the praise team at my church) would come lead us in worship to God, and then the speaker, Jack B. ( can not remember his last name ) came up and spoke! This year's theme was Let Your Light Shine! This was such a God thing, because I have been praying that Jesus would shine through my life, so it was AWESOME that this was the theme! On Monday night, Jack talked about God speaking to us. He was telling us the story of Abram, and when God called him to leave his home and go where God told him to, Abram got up and left, and did not question God, but he just did it! So then Jack told us that we have to quiet ourselves to be able to hear God's still, quiet whisper. and when we do not hear what God is telling us to do, we are disobeying him! Just like when your parents tell you to do something, and you "do not hear them", and then they have to tell you again, they can get fruustrated! In the same way, we are disobeying him! At the end of that night, Jack challenged us over the week, to listen to God and hear what he is telling us!

This week was amazing and the main thing that I took away from it was that one of the nights, I listened for God, and I heard him tell me to be a missionary. I am not sure where, but I feel God has placed my heart in a little-known orphanage in Uganda, the Home Sweet Orphange! I have talked with the guy there, I have been praying and I feel God leading me towards this place! And the best part, is this man and the orphanage is Christ-centered and they are helping the children of the area who are orphaned by AIDS! Some people may call me crazy and that this is impossiible and dangerous to go to Uganda, but when it comes to my God,  nothing is impossible and I am living my life for him, and no one else! This week, God took complete control of my life and what ever plans HE has for my life, no matter how crazy they might seem, I must obey him and do what HE is saying!

Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father amd the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
